BBC spreads misinformation about safety of abortion pills

Date:

The BBC  spread dangerous misinformation about the abortion pills in its broadcast of 27th October.  They have claimed that it is dangerous and that “a number of women will actually require a blood transfusion" after taking the pills.  This is not true. The abortion pills, mifepristone and misoprostol, are extremely safe - safer than viagra and aspirin as a matter of fact. They are on WHO's list of essential medicines.

Let us be under no illusion, the state knows the abortion law is unworkable; the politicians know that we make a mockery of them every time we help someone who needs an abortion, every time we have an illegal abortion and every time we openly talk about it. They know we don't believe their lies about how much they care for us and they don't like this one bit.

Instead of providing care for us they are instead going to try to scare us out of taking our uteruses into our own hands. We cannot let this happen.

We stand in solidarity with those the state neglects.
