Workers Solidarity Movement

The Independent Workers Union (Cork Branch) has launched a series of posters that have been displayed on poles around Cork city. The posters raise five demands from the unions manifesto of resistance.

The slogans are "Tax the greedy not the needy", "Keep Water Free", " Healthcare free and equal", "Nationalise the gas" and "Maximum wage E100,000". The union is highlighting these demands to emphasis the point that despite the election there will be a continuing need for mobilising opposition tothe  plans of government of whatever hue  to make the working class pay for the crisis.

Only through a strong oppositional movement led by a reinvigorated and healthy workers movement can we defeat the austerity measures aimed at the working class.
