Cork - stop the health cuts - save the Orthopaedic Hospital

Date:

Protest against the cutbacks in the health serviceThere is a sustained attack on the health services. In Cork, city centre hospitals like the Mercy have already suffered cuts. Now the focus has shifted to the Orthopaedic Hospital and the HSE’s ‘suggestions’ to shut the core surgery unit for hip and knee replacements.

Workers at the Orthopaedic are determined to defend the hospital’s future and their jobs. Meetings are being held with other workers in the health service in the city to organise joint opposition to the HSE and the Government’s plans. As part of this, next Monday evening, the Orthopaedic workers are calling for a protest for outside City Hall. The protest is being called by SIPTU.

Where: Outside City Hall, Anglesea Street.

When: Monday 13th.

At: 5 pm to 6 pm
