All welcomeWorkers at Coca Cola distribution centres around the country have been on strike since 27th August to protect their jobs.
SIPTU members are picketing the depots in Dublin, Tuam, Waterford, Tipperary and Cork.
Coca Cola HBC employs over 1,000 workers throughout the country and is planning to get rid of its transport workers. This work will be then contacted to outside firms, who will re-employ the workers on much lower wages..
Coca-Cola is bottled and distributed by Athens based Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Corp.
Last month Coca-Cola HBC revealed its three months profits to the end of June had hit €188.1 million, a rise of 4% "on higher prices along with reduced input and operating costs". The company announced to shareholders that it will focus on implementing cost reduction.to boost its profits.
