Upcoming Anti-War Events

Anti-War Ireland, in which WSM members in Dublin and Cork are participating, are holding a series of talks and demonstrations over the next week. There are three all former US army interrogators at Abu Ghraib and members now of Iraq Veterans Against the War, Joshua Casteel, Stephen Lewis and Tony Lagouranis who willing be speaking around the country over the coming week.

Cork Meeting:
When: 8pm, Tuesday, 31 October
Where: Quality Hotel, John Redmond Street, Cork

Belfast Meeting:
Where: G105 in the David Keir building at Queen's University, Belfast.
When: 7.30pm on Wednesday, 1 November.

Shannon Demonstration:
Anti-War Ireland are also hosting a demonstration at Shannon on Saturday 28th October.

The Dublin Public meeting will take place in the ATGWU Hall in Middle Abbey Street, Dublin 1 this Thursday 26th October at 7.30pm. As well as the former US soldiers the meeting will also be addressed by Goretti Horgan (Derry Anti-War Coalition, and representing the Raytheon Nine) and Colm Breathnach of Anti-War Ireland and the Irish Socialist Network.

Shannon Demonstration:
Anti-War Ireland are also hosting a demonstration at Shannon on Saturday 28th October. The demo will assemble at 2.00pm at Lidl in Shannon town. If you are travelling from Dublin please contact Anthony at 087 068 78 99 to book a seat on the bus. Return fare is 15 euros (waged) or 10 euros (student/unwaged/low waged).

If you are travelling from Cork there will be a bus to the demonstration in Shannon which will leave the Cork Opera House at 9.30am on Saturday, 28 October.

If you are travelling from West Cork please note that the bus starts in Skibbereen at 8.30am. Pick-ups between Skib and Cork or between Cork and Shannon can be organised. To book your seat, phone 087 9387566 or email cathallarkin@yahoo.com.
